Hello!!
I am an almost 31 year old woman. I used to be slim, and due to depression and complacency the weight has slowly crept up on me. I used to be 8 and a half stone and i am 5ft 5inches tall. I hardly ever worked out. I now weigh 11 stone 2 lbs. It is not just about weight loss for me, i want to be healthy, fit and toned, especially as i am getting older!
When i was younger if i put on any weight i would do Atkins, so barely eat any fruit or veg and mainly eat fats and protein. It worked but i don't feel it is very sustainable, if i slipped and ate anything high in carbs i would end up putting on weight that week - all the other hard work for nothing. **Any way back to now!** I stumbled across the ketogenic diet whilst trying to work out the best diet for me. It sounded perfect, if not complex!! I spent ages on different websites compiling my daily allowances and trying to plan meals.
Let me give you my findings so you know what i work with;
Carbs - 20 - 40g
Fat - 87 - 67g
Protein - 60-84g
Calories - max 1100
I have done 9 days so far and put on almost 1lb
In my first week my weekly totals were (i started on a Tuesday so it was 6 days);
carbs - 104.4
fat - 362.3
protein - 328.8
calories - 5533
So i was under on everything, i didn't do any exercise last week.
This week i am doing 4 days of HIIT - 12-15 mins each, with extra squats and sit ups.
My totals for this week are (I have stuck to them so far);
Carbs - 146.2
Fat - 500.1
Protein - 425.8
Calories - 7095.4
With this i am only over on protein but still within my ranges.
I do have 1/2 a bottle of red wine and a few gin and slimline tonics on a Saturday but i include their carbs (should i class their alcohol content as carbs too?!) Should i cut this out?
I set my weekly goals on my goal weight of 8 and a half stone, and bearing in mind that i am not that active, apart from the exercise i am doing i work from home online, so my lifestyle is sedentary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to carry on with it as it might take awhile for it to kick in with me, but i don't want to carry on if it is not going to work for me, or if i am doing it completely wrong.
Thank you for listening to me!
