Doing my second round of Couch to 5K program. I completed the program last year and although I can run (if you call it running) at least 5K I'm very slow. I used to be a runner long ago in college when I lost a ton of weight but sedentary life got the best of me.
This redux round I'm hitting it at a faster pace. I must be doing it right as it's kicking my ass and I felt nauseous the first two weeks. Just did Week 3, Run 1 today and not nauseous but it's still kicking me.
If anyone else is considering doing C25K I say go for it. The first week or two are the toughest but it gets better and you're stronger than you think. If it's totally kicking your ass then you need to slow your pace a bit. The point is to be able to run 5K non-stop, you're not trying to set an Olympic record.
If anyone wants to know anything just ask.

I used to run up to 7 miles a day. I know that is not much to some runners, but that was good enough for me and 2 dogs.
That was years ago. When I made lifetime on weight watchers and always felt like I was starving..
Then I developed degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis in my hips which causes me to have a crooked body now. When it all first started the pain was just too much to handle and the running had to stop. Of course the weight came back and now I am trying to get it back down to better manage the problems. However, PCOS is an evil bitch that keeps the weight from budging. I am hoping to kick insulin resistance a$$.
I have started the C25k many times and I just get discouraged.
Now I use an iFit workout for my treadmill that does the program for me and starts out a little slower and goes up and down in speed and incline.
I don't really like running, I like the feeling running gives me.
