Hello,
I have several questions. I started in early August and went through the keto flu. Have lost about 12 lbs. Was feeling great, but suddenly this week since I started exercising my muscles are aching and it is not soreness from lifting. It feels more like the flu again.
Also, i test my blood for ketones and usually it is .3 or .4 in the morning while fasting. At bedtime its .3, .7, .9, .4, etc. In the afternoon, I have reached 1.2, 1.4. I have not ever been above 1.4. This is so confusing to me. The same week I started exercising I dropped my protein to 4 oz per meal because I am only 5'1" female.
I eat FAT! Butter, bacon fat, olive oil, coconut oil. My food is cooked in about 3 TBL of fat and sometimes I eat a spoonful of coconut oil just for health. I eat NO starchy veggies and measure them (spinach, romaine, broccoli, cauliflauer) with a scale or by the cup. I drink broth and also add himylaan salt to my water. I also eat 1/2-1 avocado/day. Drink at least 9 glasses of water/day. No fruit. I also eat very clean meaning I avoid processed meats mostly.
Questions:
How do I know if my body is breaking down my muscle for food?
Why am I having weird aching again all of a sudden?
Why are my numbers so low?
By the way, my blood work came back and my sugar was 119 (fasting). Weird! it should be under 100. This is why I am wondering if my body is using my muscle.
Thanks to all who read. I am new here. My doctors are NO help whatsoever. I don't know how to get guidance to do this.
