Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and finally worked out how to post . I recently started a keto eating plan and the first time round (start of the year) I had major gall bladder attacks and had to come off. I then did several gall/liver flushes to get rid of the stones, which they did go, and now I am back on keto. The first time round I was really hard on the amount of calories I consumed and tried to stay under 1500 per day for my size according to keto calculator. I do admit, I was hungry at 1500 calories a day. Now this second time round, I don't count calories but I also don't get hungry. The problem is, I have not lost any weight since starting (now 2 months) but have actually put on weight. Really disappointed with myself that I'm actually getting fatter which makes people around me say 'I told you so' I really do like the idea of keto living but I guess I don't know what a realistic time frame is to lose weight. I hear people say that the fat just melts off them in weeks and others say they don't noticed any weight shift for at least 4 months. I don't know what to believe because all I am seeing with myself is noticeable weight gain. Can anyone help me with their own experience, I'm wondering if keto is too good to be true? Thanks guys. I've been on keto less than 20g a day and 2000 calories for 3 weeks. I'm down 17 pounds. So it's working for me, but at first I wasn't monitoring calories and didn't lose. Then realized I was eating like 4k calories a day. Once I started to monitor calories I started dropping the pounds.

Thanks for your reply erstam, I have now started to monitor my calories more but I notice I am quite hungry at 1600 calories. I still don't notice any weight loss even though I feel better on keto compared to high carb low fat eating plans. Not sure why the weight is not shifting, maybe I should introduce intermittent fasting...
