Hello,
My wife and I are 35 and 38 respectively, and about two weeks ago weighed 198 and 276 respectively.
We started a keto diet and due to the shock/sugar detox of going on it or water loss, as well as sticking to it pretty well I am down to 260 and she's down to 188. We've stalled a tad due to cheating slightly (by that I mean having a sandwich or something similar) and maybe general plateauing.
She's Mexican (due to be a citizen in about 3 weeks) and I'm American. This is weighing on her a bit as we hit the holidays, with tamales being cooked at her mom's house, the thought of having to skip meals in social situations, etc.
Neither of us are diabetic or anything like that but we are very interested in losing weight and eventually getting to a situation where we can eat a couple of tortillas 2X a week. a meal without tortillas just really isn't a meal. After the holidays, we really don't make plans with family or do social meals until it's practically summertime.
So it comes down to the decision. If you were me would you give any consideration to the idea of continuing a keto diet through Thanksgiving, taking a break, and then restarting full-blown keto after the new year?
My wife seems keen on doing something like that. I'm guessing I would be able to get down to around 255 or 250 by Thanksgiving, and then most likely gain back a few lbs. by the new year. Having cut out soda (which was my water essentially, before) I don't think I will balloon or anything like that.
Thanks for reading and look forward to your opinions.

I have a second question I'd like to ask and will ask it here so as not to create too many threads.
One thing that is boring the life out of me is drinking plain water. I've experimented with putting lemon juice in my water, will that be too much "sugar"? Are there any recommended acceptable keto-friendly drinks you'd suggest?
thanks.

But then after new year you need to continue and do not stop it again.
