Hi! I'm new to the keto diet and need advice from more experienced keto-ers. I've been doing it about a month very faithfully and have been in ketosis since the 6th day. I've seen some areas where I think I look less fatty, but I've been losing and gaining the same few pounds for this entire month! My clothes aren't fitting any looser yet, either! Hubby started with me and is testing our marriage by losing about 8# so far. I've also started having major hot flashes - esp every time i eat! - and my womanly cycles are being affected. I have some specific questions, but I don't want to waste time posting them all until I know this is an active board on the subject - i browsed it and saw a bunch of threads about aluminum construction or somesuch Any answers letting me know I am in the right place would be much appreciated!

It’s don’t think this forum is very active, try www.ketogenicforums.comAre you tracking your macros? Make sure you aren’t eating too much protein as that can be converted to glucose by your body. You should be somewhere around 75-80% of calories from fat, 15-20% from protein, and only around 5% from carbs. Other than that, unfortunately it is just harder for women to lose weight than it is for men. Check out Dr. Berry on YouTube, all your questions will be answered.

Hi: I'm thinking this site isn't too active. I just found it, so I'll check it out for several days and see what happens.
I've been living the Keto way since July and I can lose some, get stuck for days and days, and then suddenly drop. I reached my immediate goal a couple of weeks ago, promptly starting moving up and down the scales, which seems to be what my body does. Today I hit goal weight again, so I do believe I'm on the right track.
Men ALWAYS lose faster than women, Jackieblue, ALWAYS. I do agree with Oxymoran! So, please try not to compare your weight loss or struggles with your husband's.
I don't know your age, but the hot flashes and differences in your cycles could suggest perimenopause, or close to it. Personally, I think if this is the case, this could also affect your ability to lose more rapidly. Eating Keto will work right in the end, so I hope you don't become too discouraged.
Regarding fat/protein/carbs macros -- I think, at least for myself, that keeping my fat intake around 75%, protein about 22-23%, and carbs about 4%, I've managed to lose most of my weight.
