Well, then. I plan on keeping my keto diary here...
We moved last year, and I don't really have friends or family to share my progress with (Aside from my son and husband, of course!) and I feel like being able to share this with people doing the same thing will keep me motivated and on track.
I'll probably update it every 10-14 days, share my progress pictures and talk a little about what I've been doing. All suggestions, comments and constructive critisism are welcome.
I started January 24th, 2013. That puts me 12 days in.
I'm tired of feeling tired. I'm tired of having trouble finding pants that fit me at local stores. I'm tired of getting out of breath walking up stairs. I'm tired of seeing my mother's apron glaring at me in the mirror.
I started at 196 lbs. As of today, I'm 187. I know most of that is water weight, but I can't help but be excited about it. If nothing else, it's nice to not feel super bloated all the time.
My goal weight is 125. I'd like to make it there in a year, but whatever happens, happens.
I'm eating 1200cal/day, 15 or less carbs, and gulping down water like a madman. I'm also striving to do at least an hour of cardio a day, and getting down and dowing pushups, situps, planks and the like whenever I have a spare moment. I count the cardio in to MFP - I don't want to exercise too much and eat too little. I don't care to make passing out a hobby
Also, I'll have none of these damned "cheat days" and I'm tired of hearing about them everywhere. I'm throwing all my chips in to this, and I mean to go at it full force.
The best part so far is only having a couple days of keto flu. I quit the carbs cold turkey, and it hit me hard and fast but went away quick. Aside from that, I also made some keto chocolate "milk" which I've enjoyed immensely. I know a lot of people gripe about frakenfoods, but this is a major cheat-queller for me. 2tblspn heavy cream, 2 tblspn Walden Farms chocolate syrup, and 1 c. Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It ends up all frothy and milk-chocolatey.
It seems like many people complain about the flavor of the Walden Farms syrup, but if you mix it at a 1:1 ratio with heavy cream, I swear it tastes just like milk chocolate.
It's the only frakenfood I've consumed since starting, and I really don't think a glass every day or two will hold up my progress any. I quit fast food and soda, at least.
The worst part has been cooking two separate meals at lunch and dinner. I in no way expect my son and husband to join me in this, so I've been baking them breads and making them potatoes and rice, and all that sort of thing. It sucks having my hands in bread dough almost daily, and having to smell it cooking.
Anyway, here's my first 12 days of progress in picture form. Not much to see yet but a fat woman, but I want to keep a steady log. I'm in a bra and pants in them, just so you know before you click. It's not pretty.

Oh...and I dyed my hair, too.
