Hi all! Thanks to L6S for this forum! I am absolutely in love with this lifestyle, (feeling healthier, more alert, calm yet euphoric, sleeping so deeply, skin like a baby's butt after only three weeks or so)...and I know the science behind it. So when will the AHA, WebMD, and other big guys like Mayo Clinic stop villifying fat and cholesterol? It kind of makes me feel like a conspiracy theorist to doubt these influential conglomerates of health information... When will their science and guidelines of low fat, lots of healthy grains, etc. conform to the science we know about insulin, inflammation, and carbs?

i honestly don't have much faith in this happening any time soon. i'd at least LOVE for them to give up on the whole idea that "low fat = good". or accept that adding sugar and breading into god-damn everything isn't normal/healthy. not to get all tin foil hat, but i'm pretty convinced the food pyramid is shaped by which foods are most profitable. i posted a good article about it in /r/keto a long time ago, but i wont be able to find it since i deleted my account

Big moment for me when I thought to myself, "Maybe this is it...maybe this is the turning point?" was when Dr Oz had Sinatra and Bowden on and changed direction on Cholesterol.

I always take nutrition documentaries with a grain of salt, but one thing I always remembered from the Perfect Human Diet film was the guy who compared the food pyramid nutrition to that of the livestock we eat... and basically the cows and pigs are following the same food pyramid the FDA wants us eating.
We should be eating like wolves, not cows!
