Hi all, I'm new to this board and new to being on the keto diet. I'm only on day 6 now, but I've noticed that no matter how much water I drink, I'm always thirsty! Has anyone else experienced this? Does it pass after a while? My first thought is that because your body is releasing stored toxins (and other things) that maybe the increased thirst is the body's way of trying to flush it all out? Anyway, thanks in advance if you can share any experience with this. Save

Congrats on your progress so far! I had that happen too. It does normalize over time. I think what is happening is that keto is known to have a diuretic effect and you can become a bit dehydrated. It is good to drink fluids and also include about 2 cups of salty broth daily to your menu. This will help keep your electrolytes in balance and you, feeling well.
