Hello all. I just found this forum and it looks like a great place to share/learn about Ketosis. My naturopath doctor put me on the Keto diet to help fight cancer since cancer cells don't have the metabolic flexibility to switch over to burning fat for fuel thus starving them. I've been on the diet since Jan 2 and find it's easier now to follow the diet. I was about 6'0" and weighed 172 lbs when I started. He set my nutrition goals to 1638 calories, 61 g of protein, 141 g fat and 12 net carbs (80% fat, 15% protein, and 5% carbs). He said he wanted me to put on 10 lbs but I'm losing weight, down to 164 now. I've been using the 2016 Ketonix red USB. It's very easy to use and automatically chart's your progress in an excel spreadsheet if you use it plugged into your computer and are online. Cost was about $190 usd.

I've just got back on the horse after doing so well before.
Anyway just wanted to share a few words to any newcomers out there.
Keto is simple if you keep it that way!
Trying to factor in cheat foods or alternatives to your previous diet is a recipe for disaster.
Eat meat, eggs, butter/oil, and green leafy veggies. Use cheese or cream to flavour but not as a snack. Drink water like it's your job.
Hey presto, weight loss or loss in inches off your body and looser clothes.
The scale isn't your friend, the mirror is, if you think the scale lies forget about it.
Also remember for every pint of water drank that half a kilo, 2 pints drank and no pee equals 1kg heavier.
it's also a marathon and not a sprint, inevitably you will weigh less but I can guarantee you will become more defined and feel full of energy and generally healthier and also not tied to hunger pangs. You will be the boss of food and not vice versa!!
Hope this helps.

Hello everyone! 6 months ago I started on a keto diet. I was motivated and ready to take on the challenge of reaching my ideal bodyweight. BUT I was quickly eating carbs again. I just couldn't sustain the diet. Within a week I suffered a huge keto flu. I felt dizzy, sick and had nasty headaches. I expected a little set back, but this was to much for me and I just started eating crap again, thinking I would feel better. After 4 weeks of eating crap, I wanted to try again but had no idea how I could start without feeling that bad again. I spoke with a friend about this frustration, and it she recommended a program she did. I'm now 3 weeks in, and lost about 13 pounds. Now I want to share this with people so they can try it to. The link below directs people to the site of this program. Please skip the intro video, it's boring and long. But if you want to, I warned you! The program works for me at least. tinyurl.com/yc8dlulu

Tried KETO to fight CLL. I dropped 20 pounds and everyone in the world was worried that I was really sick. Went back to the poison diet and 15 lbs went back on fast. I seriously need to go back onto KETO, but how am I going to keep from getting so skinny? I really seriously need help with this. While I was in Ketosis, my "bad Numbers" in my blood tests plummeted, so this works. Any input/advice appreciated. Thank you very much. Hello My advice would be to ensure your calories are high enough. It’s not about over eating, if you feel you are losing too much weight, adjust what you are eating. Are you going for sweets or savories? And how many times a day do you eat? Are you training also? Michelle
