Ok, if you don't know the term (I'm a geek, so bear with me), a breadcrumb is the path to a post. Above the message you'll see "The Ketogenic Diet::General Board" It lets you easily navigate through the forum. Well, with the background of the board, it IMPOSSIBLE to see it. it's thin blue or black. Can the color of this be changed in the preferences? Screenshot of "offending" color scheme

yeah i noticed that was an issue...i don't know what colour to change it to in order to even make it stand out? i think i'd have to change the background all together (maybe i should).
also the skin & forum colours are literally the most difficult thing to figure out. you never know what the hell you're editing. i've been using proboards for a couple years now and i still to this day can't figure out how to edit things properly.
i can take a screen shot of what i mean.

or maybe i'm just an idiot? i think i'd have to edit 'links', but also 'visited links' etc. for it to work. even if i made it white, i think we might have trouble viewing it because of the background. and i don't know if making it white would turn ALL the links white?

The preferences image included doesn't seem to have a section just for breadcrumbs, so you might need to look at the CSS stylesheet directly, if boards.net lets you edit that.
I'm not a pro at this, but it looks like the breadcrumbs refer to a CSS style called "nav," which could theoretically let you change just the colors for those links. If there's any way to get into the stylesheet, it could probably be done.

i don't think there is any way to edit the CSS. i think the only option to make those links visible is to change the background. so if someone has a good suggestion for one? i'd prefer if it wasn't just a plain old boring solid colour i think people can still easily navigate between categories/etc. (or maybe i'm wrong? it's etched into my muscle memory at this point, so i'm biased), but i realize it's a huge pain in the ass that you can't see what it says.

To be completely honest, I didn't know they were there xD I've just been clicking on 'home' and navigating through there.

I'd try changing the link colors and seeing if that helps. You click on it and it takes you to another page, so it's a link, right? That's what I'm thinking, anyway.

if i change the link colours, it changes them all (i just tried). so it makes them sorta visible against the background, but not as visible within the forum.
i think the best option is to do something with the background. i'll try something out.

Hard to say whether it'd be better with a lighter background or darker... probably lighter, but so long as the awesome drawings stay. It kinda reminds me of Rocko's Modern Life on Keto!

It kinda reminds me of Rocko's Modern Life on Keto! oh my god, you're so right. it's honestly 100% the background fault that we can't make the links visible...but it's just so cute

Aaah, damn :/ If you want any help with the background, I have Photoshop and really bad Photoshop skills that I think are good.

Well, I just mess around on Photoshop as a hobby, but I'll see if I can come up with something. Worth a try, at least.

Sorry it took a few days, I've been super busy. I figured orange would be best, as blue stands out vibrantly on orange. I faded the foods a bit so the links would show up better through them, but added a nice drop shadow to the food so it still shows up nicely. I can edit the orange to be any color you'd like (I saved the .PSD so I still have the separate layers), so you can change you color scheme however you'd like, and I can make the background match and ensure everthing shows up nicely. i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh594/Anti-tillia/ketoorangefade.jpgIf you don't like it it won't hurt my feelilngs any.... it took all of a measly 10 minutes to do, so no biggie. If you like it but want it tweaked, I can email you the .PSD or you can tell me what you want and I can tweak it myself.
